ig//gemsofjannah: Nikah is a contract of commitment which brings two people closer to Allah.10/6/2015 gemsofjannah When two people agree to marry one another, they are binding a contract between themselves, one which will always be watched over by Allah.
Yes they will have their witnesses present at the time of contracting the Nikah, however once this is over and the two individuals go away to live together, the real witness will be Allah. He will be the One who looks over them and watches how they conduct themselves with each other. He will observe them, and see whether they obey one another and treat each other in a fair and just manner. Hence the dire need for attaining Taqwa of Allah, in our conduct with Him and with His slaves. - Many people go in to marriage with a list of expectations. More than expectations, with demands. But that's not what Nikah is about. It's a bond. And no bond can come about without sacrifice. How do two puzzle pieces fit together? Are they perfect squares to begin with? Or have they had to shred corners and parts of their entire selves in order to fit perfectly together? That's what Nikah is. It's sacrifice and selflessness. - Nikah shouldn't be established with the mindset of having such and such rights over your spouse - which they are expected to fulfill. No. Rather Nikah should be established with the mindset which says "My spouse has such and such rights over me, which I will try to fulfil - so that we may live in tranquility together." If both spouses have this mentality, then they will live in tranquility as they both aim to fulfill each other's rights. - Most people aren't aware of the rights their spouse has over them, hence the importance of studying the fiqh of marriage before getting married, to save one's self from many problems later on. - Remember not to live on expectations. Expect only from Allah and give to the people. Give of your services what you can, and in turn Allah will give you what He wishes from His favours. You'll never lose out like that. - May Allah grant every seeking individual a righteous spouse and grant them the tawfeeq to fulfill each other's rights. Aameen. - #gemsofjannah #allah #kalaamulqalb#heart #sabr #shukr #nikah#latenightthoughts #reflectionsofthesoul
